The theme for the inaugural Asia Architecture Design Awards is "Impactful Asia", and conveys the message of a region that is increasingly having a strong influence in architecture circles around the world.

Asia is the largest continent in the world with rich and varied cultures and histories, including some of the oldest and most complex societies on the planet. It is also home to some of the great architectural wonders of mankind such as the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, Tibet's Potala Palace, Angkor Wat Temples in Cambodia, and the Taktsang Palphug Monastery in Bhutan.

Continuing in this tradition, modern Asian architecture has also made its own distinctive imprints with famous works such as Malaysia's Petronas Twin Towers, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Taipei 101, and the Tokyo Sky Tree Tower.

Within this context, the Asia Awards Organization officially launched the 2023 Asia Architecture Design Awards (AADA) to honor excellence in the projects and products created by individuals and organizations in the industry which have had a positive impact on the infrastructure development of the region.

The annual award consists of 30 award categories in the disciplines of architecture, interior design, and furniture design. The Singapore-based Asia Awards Organization is an enterprise that develops and promotes creative excellence in various fields.

Commenting on the development of Asian architecture, Vice President of Partnership Development of the Asia Awards Organization Mr. Dylan Yip said: “Asian designs have a blend of traditional and national culture, creating its own unique style and influence, especially with Japanese and Chinese architecture. Recently, Thai, Malaysian, and Indian architecture has had a positive impact on world architecture, while in Vietnam, the industry has also seen rapid development with a series of works that have won regional and international awards."

The 2023 Asia Architecture and Design Awards encompasses projects across the region and this year will take place from December 2022 to July 2023 and is open to candidates who are individuals, organizations, and businesses in the industry.

Chief of Marketing Officer of the Asia Awards Organization Mr. Timothy Wong said: “Our theme for this year's awards: “Impactful Asia” represents our goal of providing a platform for the emerging Asian architecture and design industry. Outstanding Asian design, projects, individuals, organizations, and businesses should be more appropriately honored because they are some of the finest practitioners in the world.”

"The AADA is both a mechanism to honor the best in our industry, and also a place to connect, exchange and share ideas, and bring practical value ​​to individuals, businesses, and communities. The award criteria reflect the spectrum of the architecture and design industry and will help individuals and firms reflect on and improve the quality of their services and products. In addition, with the participation of leading experts in the field from academia and private practice, and the presence of international media, the AADA will be an opportunity for professionals in the industry to improve their profile and recognition.

Mr. Wong added that the AADA does not limit the number of candidates who can nominate for the awards, from either inside or outside of Asia and welcomes all applicants to submit during the period from December 2022 until April 2023. The best projects, individuals, and businesses will be honored at the Winners’ Gala Night taking place in Singapore in July 2023.
